The studied material included a population of whiteback cows’ performance in 14 individual farms and at the Uhrusk Experimental Station of Agricultural University in Lublin. We distinguish two breeding regions currently: nadbużański and biebrzańsko-narwiański. The registered whitebacks population have over 120 pieces of cattle with 75 cows. It is mainy localised in Polesie region in the districts of Włodawa, Biała Podlaska and Parczew. Most cows are seven years old or older. On the basis of 62 lactations it was ascertained that the average milk yield of whiteback cows amounted to 4331.5 kg, with the concentration of 4.21% fat, 3.32%, protein, 4.68% lactose and 12.64% dry matter.
