This article is presenting some ethical, moral and economic aspects of the wild game birds hunting. Hunting should be considered as significantly reduced to obtaining high-value meat (venison) from the exploitation of renewable natural
resources. In addition, it allows for the regulation of the number and structure of the population of individual species. Therefore, this does not have a negative impact on the rational functioning of animal species, covered by this form of
use, and at the same time allows for protective measures and cultivation of the traditions related to hunting. In addition, the article also presents a fairly important topic related to the introduced ban on the use of lead shot ammunition in hunting birds in wetland habitats, which will come into force in 2023. The consequence of this regulation will be reduction in the effectiveness of hunting, and perhaps above all, it will have a decisive impact on the hunting benefits, as well as negative influence on animal welfare. Replacing the lead shot with steel shot with a much lower specific weight of this raw material (on average by 30%), and thus significantly lowering refuting energy, will increase the number of shots, which should be assessed as a significant deterioration of the humanitarianism of legally killing birds
