Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic disease with a genetic basis. The physiological markers of the disease are inflammation and abnormalities in the efficiency of the body’s antioxidant system. The aim of this study was to analyze the possibility of using diet therapy to alleviate the course of AD. Based on information present in the world literature, available in Web of Sciences, Scopus, PubMed, and Google Scholar databases, the effect of food active ingredients in the course of this chronic disease was investigated. In the case of dermatoses, it is important both to eliminate foods that can exacerbate the course of the disease and to include in the menu ingredients that can alleviate the development of the illness. Diet therapy is the simplest and least cumbersome way to support the treatment of AD, even leading to the elimination of symptoms of the disease.
